Goodbye, Indian summer...

...it was kind of you to visit but I'm not sad to see you leave.

I really don't function at all well when it's hot and to be frank, my loves, who really expects the temperature to reach 29C or 30C at the end of September for goodness sake!  Thankfully it's much more comfortable here today :-)  The forecast is for rain tonight and for the temperature to drop right down to around 14C or 15C by the end of the week ~ much more seasonable, methinks :-)

On Monday and yesterday I spent some time out in the garden putting my winter/spring bedding plug plants in containers, but it felt quite unnatural with it being so hot out there.  I had intended to get the poor little things into larger pots, to grow on a bit, before we went away on holiday but just didn't get round to it.  Olive, my lovely neighbour from over the road, planted all the little plugs into larger trays for me, though, which was really kind of her.  She also fed Daisy and the chickens whilst we were away.  It's so nice to have kind neighbours, don't you think, sweetie~pies?

I really must get my Christmas puddings made soon too, but who could possibly think of making such things during a heatwave LOL  Still now that it is cooling down again so nicely my loves, I shall get on with them in the next week or so.  I confess that I rather like making Christmas puds; all those little basins of goodness steaming away makes me feel like the proverbial domestic goddess ~ not to mention how wonderful the house smells during the process!  I will try to remember to take photos ~ sadly, sweetie~pies, I can't share the delicious aroma so I'm afraid you will just have to use your imagination for that ;-)

I'm with you on looking forward to cooler weather--I left Texas for a reason!! LOL Hope your haircut is fabulous--I'm sure you will look completely wonderful. I am about to leave for Cambridge and feel nervous about this "transformation". On another note, I will follow your blog as soon as my internet starts working porperly (wind here in the Fens!)....ahhhh. x

Our Indian Summer is still with us - until tomorrow! I admit I've loved 'only' having temps up to 30° - it was just like summer should be, and not as hot as it actually gets down here. But from Friday the forecast tells me we'll be dry, sunny but down to about 15°, which sounds like a great October. Thanks for your comment - I think a lot of us are on the same wavelength about this.

Not sure when our Indian summer will end. It does seem odd to have the A/C running on the 6th of October!
